I have a question for all of you Jane Austen readers :)
Lady Russell felt obliged to oppose her dear Anne's known wishes. It would be too much to expect Sir Walter to descend into a small house in his own neighbourhood. Anne herself would have found the mortification of it more than she foresaw, and to Sir Walter's feelings they must have been dreadful.

Which is your favorite Jane Austen novel?
Persuasion is my very first Austen novel, and I like it so far. I am just curious as to which is the best out of the 6 completed works by this author.

I love Emma! She's just such a great character - snobby and scheming, but well-meaning and endearing, too. Pride and Prejudice is another fave. Hope you enjoy the rest of Persuasion! :)
I don't think I've read Persuasion yet but I really love austen. You should try Pride and Prejudice too if you like her, though to be honest I actually like Sense and Sensibility more.
I enjoyed Persuasion! But I think my favourite is Pride and Prejudice... not that I've read many of Austen's books though. ;)
I hope you enjoy Austen! I'll confess to not being a fan...but I do want to read Pride and Prejudice so I can read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. :-D
I love Pride & Prejudice but I did enjoy Mansfield Park (the movie, haven't read the book but I'd like to)
My favorite's Pride and Prejudice, but it's also the first I read.

Most favorite: Pride and Prejudice. Then either Emma or Sense and Sensibility.
Oh yay, your first Austen! I've only read Northanger Abbey and Emma. Loved both really so I hope you'll enjoy this one well enough to read more!
