Saturday Quotes!

“I'm a failed poet. Maybe every novelist wants to write poetry first, finds he can't and then tries the short story which is the most demanding form after poetry. And failing at that, only then does he take up novel writing.”
-William Faulkner quotes

That is a lovely and thought-provoking quote! My favorite Faulkner quote is what he said when he left his position as postmaster:
"I reckon I'll be at the beck and call of folks with money all my life, but thank God I won't ever again have to be at the beck and call of every SOB who's got two cents to buy a stamp."

I enjoyed your quote, Veens. Writing poetry is difficult--an art I never mastered--but so is novel writing.

I like Steph's quote as well!
